Ajax duo Frenkie De Jong, Matthijs de Ligt ‘have asked about life in Spain’

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana has revealed teammates Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs de Ligt have asked him about life in Spain.

The highly-rated Dutch duo have been linked with moves to Barcelona, while Onana was involved with the Blaugrana’s youth academy after becoming involved in fellow Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o’s academy.

“De Ligt and De Jong have asked me about life in Spain,” Onana told Onda Cero radio.

“Will I play in Spain one day? Time will tell, but Spain is a country that I like very much.

“The Champions League draw? We are happy with it, Real Madrid are a very big rival and we will try to progress to the next round, the expectations are not on us so we have nothing to lose.

“I do not think we have a big chance of progression, Real Madrid are not as good this year (as previous seasons), but Madrid is Madrid.

“But I repeat, we have nothing to lose – if we beat Real Madrid then the world falls, because they are favourites to win the Champions League.

“The world’s best goalkeeper? I cannot choose between Jan Oblak and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, they are both different.”
