Tottenham ‘braced’ for Real Madrid’s Mauricio Pochettino approach

Tottenham are ‘braced’ for a campaign from Real Madrid to land their in-demand boss Mauricio Pochettino, report The Guardian.

The Argentine boss has led Spurs to three successive top three finishes in the Premier League and to back-to-back appearances in the Champions League knockout stages.

Pochettino was once again in the spotlight this week as he led the North London side to a 1-1 draw at a much-changed Barcelona team in the Champions League, to see them progress.

Last month, Madrid appointed Santiago Solari on a two-and-a-half year deal until 2021 but there are growing reports that he will not last beyond the current campaign at the club.

Solari replaced Julen Lopetegui in the hotseat at Los Blancos and despite a largely positive start in terms of results, has suffered embarrassing 3-0 defeats against both Eibar and CSKA Moscow.

Pochettino has been at the helm of Spurs since 2014 and previously managed in Spain with Espanyol.
