Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has praised the club for not ‘thinking short term’ and building an exciting, young squad.
The comments come after boss Santiago Solari admitted he was ‘excited’ by the young talent at the club while Dani Ceballos believed it made team line-ups ‘less predictable’.
“The philosophy of the club is to think medium-term and long-term, hence why we have signed so many young players,” explained Carvajal after Saturday’s victory over Valencia, as cited by El Pais.
“We now have a very young midfielder and can compete against the best teams in the country, you can see Marcos Llorente has now enjoyed great games against Roma and Valencia.
“It was an important victory for us because everything came together and the first half was our best 45 minutes display of the season so far.
“We managed to finish them off in the second half when they took risks, it was an important win.”
