Santiago Solari ‘excited’ by Real Madrid youngsters

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari admits he is ‘excited’ by the club’s younger players after Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Valencia.

The Argentine focused his post-match reaction on suggesting the side was undergoing a generational shift and heaped praise on the number of younger players coming into the side.

“Young players bring fresh legs and an element of excitement,” Solari told reporters after Saturday’s match.

“You need to mix this with the experience of older players and this season we have a good mix of players who are younger and those who are veterans, who can provide that balance.

“We also need to give a chance to the younger players who can break through, players I’ve mentioned like; Marcos Llorente, Alvaro Odriozola, Dani Ceballos, Sergio Reguilon, Vinicius Junior…I must be forgetting others too.

“But they are very young and talented, and hopefully in five years from now, they will all still be playing here.”
