Barcelona are set to step up their pursuit of Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt by arranging a meeting with his agent Mino Raiola, report Diario Sport.
The in-demand Dutch defender is said to be not only wanted by Barca but a number of top European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Inter and Roma.
The 19-year-old has already won international recognition with the Netherlands, capped 13 times, and has made 84 first-team appearances for the Dutch giants.
Earlier this week, the same outlet reported that Barca sporting director Eric Abidal has spoken directly with de Ligt over the phone and has also reportedly dined with him.
Barcelona are keen to address their defensive issues – having shipped 19 goals in 13 La Liga matches.
The meeting with Raiola is also said to cover the contractual situation of Barca youth player Xavi Simons, who is said to be interesting a number of European clubs.
