Santiago Solari admits Eibar ‘were better than us’ but insists Real Madrid did not lack fight during their 3-0 defeat on Saturday.
“A lot of things happened, the main one being that Eibar had a great game with the football they served up,” remarked the Coach after the game.
“We had chances to score but didn’t and they did, on a breakaway from a corner, something that we must address. The second goal did a lot of damage to us.
“One shot on target? Pointing fingers or blaming anyone doesn’t help. We know we didn’t play well and that there are things to address.
“However, everything is curable. We did things well in the other matches and we have to do them again.
“There wasn’t a lack of character from us. The lads worked hard and put in what they had to.
“No-one gave less than what they had, although we lost some small battles, which later weighed us down.
“Ipurua a complicated place to play and we couldn’t overcome it. You can’t draw enough conclusions to change everything from one game. I’ve watched all five of our games.
“Eibar played with guts and we weren’t up to it, but we didn’t lose because of that. They were better than us.
“The dressing room isn’t a carnival right now, but we had many reasons to be optimistic and positive in the our last few matches.”
