Raphael Varane: Real Madrid have a ‘collective’ problem

Raphael Varane accepts Real Madrid have ‘a collective problem’ after their 3-0 defeat to Eibar on Saturday.

“Eibar were direct and made it complicated for us,” said the defender after his side conceded their 19th goal in La Liga.

“When we lose individual duels, it costs us. We couldn’t respond to their high pressure and second balls.

“We have the quality to play football, but we’re not in a good way collectively. We lost the direct battle and couldn’t find solutions.

“We tried to play our football but couldn’t. It’s a collective problem, so we must be united and keep working like always.

“Conceding 19 goals in La Liga is a collective problem. All of us must improve in this aspect so we can win more games. We’re aware of the situation.

“We had a good run but now we’ve lost again. We’ll try to win again so we can regain a good dynamic.”
