Borussia Dortmund to sign Paco Alcacer from Barcelona ‘this weekend’

Borussia Dortmund will exercise their €23m option to buy Barcelona loanee Paco Alcacer this weekend, according to their reports.

The striker has enjoyed a remarkable run of form since joining the Bundesliga club on a season-long loan deal from Barca this summer, netting nine goals in just four starts.

The German side would reportedly tie Alcacer down to a four-year contract worth €8m a season, putting him only behind Mario Gotze and Marco Reus.

Alongside the initial €23m which will be paid to the Catalan giants, Dortmund are also set to agree to pay €5m in ‘achievable bonuses’ to land the in-form striker, according to Friday's report in German outlet Bild.

Alcacer – who started just 14 La Liga games across two seasons while at Barcelona following a 2016 switch from Valencia – returned to the Spain squad for the first time in two years in October.
