William Carvalho, Rui Patricio donate to Sporting CP

Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho and Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio have moved to help former club Sporting CP economically.

ABC de Sevilla report on how the two former Sporting captains, who both left the club this summer amid off-field chaos, have donated to the Lisbon-based giants.

The two players announced their financial support over social media whilst also calling on other former players and fans to consider doing likewise.

Carvalho played 193 official matches with Sporting between the 2013 and this summer, while also winning 53 caps for the Portuguese national team.

Betis completed the €20m signing of the central midfielder in July while Wolves were forced into paying Sporting a tribunal fee after initially signing Patricio on a free transfer.
