Spain boss Luis Enrique: Sergio Ramos, Dejan Lovren, David Silva…

Luis Enrique says Sergio Ramos has left Spain’s camp, David Silva will be given a send-off against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Dejan Lovren acted ‘disgracefully’.

Ramos was described as ‘arriving with thigh discomfort’ coming into their Nations League defeat to Croatia, while Lovren boasted about how he elbowed the Real Madrid defender on Thursday.

“Sergio Ramos arrived with discomfort in his thigh and we hesitated over playing him against Croatia,” continued Luis Enrique at a Press conference.

“There was no point keeping him for a friendly against Bosnia. He accepted the risks against Croatia and now he’s under the orders of his club.

“I want to have a team of 23 players. The players have changed and I’m looking at various options.

“I haven’t read any of Lovren’s statements. I don’t devote myself to reading things, but I believe them to be disgraceful.”

Silva retired from international football after the World Cup, and the former Barcelona boss revealed the Manchester City midfielder would be commemorated before kick-off in his homeland of Gran Canaria.

“I understand David Silva’s reasons for his retirement. I’m focused on the present and now I’m only thinking about my team,” he added.

“As a player he’s unique. He’s an emblem of the national team for what he’s achieved. You never heard a bad word about him. I'm glad we can give him a send-off.”
