Antonio Conte on Sergio Ramos: ‘We all must show manners and respect’

Antonio Conte has responded to comments from Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos relating to ‘respect being earned, not imposed’.

The Spain defender had made the remarks in the wake of his side’s 5-1 El Clasico loss to Barcelona last month, which eventually led to the exit of Coach Julen Lopetegui.

Reports in the Spanish media have suggested that Ramos was representing the concerns of the players who did not want the former Juventus and Chelsea boss being instilled at the Bernabeu.

“Sergio Ramos’ comments? We must bring manners and respect with us wherever we go,” Conte said on Monday during the Panchina d’Oro ceremony at Coverciano.

“The same must also come from the players because when that fails, problems begin. Us Coaches have a great work ethic.

“When you come into a new environment, you can’t upset the apple cart. You must enter slowly.”
