Zlatko Dalic: Real Madrid blame foreign players

Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic has criticised Real Madrid and the coverage surrounding the club: “When they lose, they blame foreign players.”

Dalic was speaking in relation to criticism handed to Croatia international Luka Modric this season as he prepares his side to face Spain on Thursday.

“Whenever Real Madrid they lose, they will try to blame a foreign player,” Dalic told reporters, as cited by Diario AS.

“Sometimes they will shift the blame towards Luka (Modric), sometimes it will be (Toni) Kroos and sometimes someone else.

“We know Luka is the best player in the world and it does not matter what others say about him, we know what he is capable of.

“I have recently spoken to him and he is calm, he is aware that he cannot maintain that level of playing brilliantly in every single game.

“Against Spain we must seek for revenge and use the result of the last match on to spur us on to three points that we need.

“We are now in a much better place than we were two months ago with our players all fit and ready to play.”
