Real Madrid ‘confirm decision’ to appoint Santiago Solari – reports

Real Madrid have filled the relevant documentation to appoint interim boss Santiago Solari as their permanent Coach, say reports.

The Argentine was appointed to temporarily replace the dismissed Julen Lopetegui at the European champions following the side’s 5-1 El Clasico defeat last month.

However, La Liga rules dictate that such an appointment is only valid for two weeks meaning that Madrid must confirm their decision over Solari by November 13.

The former midfielder has guided Los Blancos to victories over Melilla, Valladolid, Viktoria Plzen and Celta Vigo – scoring 15 goals in the process, helping boost his prospects of the role.

ESPN FC say Madrid have now submitted the documentation to formalise Solari’s appointment until the end of the campaign, following on from widespread reports in the Spanish media.
