Villarreal boss Javier Calleja admitted that there is a possibility the club will sack him following his side’s 2-2 draw at Rayo Vallecano.
The Yellow Submarine sit just one point above the relegation zone after collecting just 11 points from their opening 12 La Liga matches and have won just once in their last 10 games across all competitions.
“If they have to sack me, they will sack me,” Calleja told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“The truth is I have not spoken with the president but they are in a position when they can take the decision they believe is right for the club, but I am in a good mental state.
“I do not want to discuss this matter anymore and I have always said that I will remain at this club until the end, I will not walk away.
“We need to try and find ways to change this mentality and find solutions in our performances, but we trust in ourselves.”
