Real Madrid want Villarreal defender Alfonso Pedraza

Real Madrid have identified Villarreal defender Alfonso Pedraza as a potential transfer target, according to Radio Marca.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Alaves – for whom he made 37 first-team appearances – and prior to that he spent the 2016/17 season between Segunda outfit Lugo and Leeds United.

Now Pedraza has featured in 13 of Villarreal’s matches to date this season and has earned glowing reviews, including scoring a late equaliser against Levante on Sunday.

Marcelo is the first-choice left-back at Madrid while Theo Hernandez is on loan at Real Sociedad with youngster Sergio Reguilon the current backup to the Brazilian.

Pedraza began his career in a more advanced role but has since reverted back to a defensive role.
