Andre Gomes has revealed how former Valencia coach Phil Neville and Barcelona teammate Lucas Digne persuaded him to join Everton.
The Portugal international joined the Toffees on a season-long loan deal from Barca this summer and is now earning a regular run in the first-team.
“I'm sure I took the best decision,” Gomes told Everton official club media.
“I spoke with Phil Neville…we've been friends since we met at Valencia and I knew he'd played at Everton and knew how the club worked.
“I also spoke with Lucas Digne. He played with me at Barcelona and signed two or three weeks before. He gave me information about the club.
“I am proud to be at Everton and happy with my decision. I'm feeling confident and feel better every day. I am really happy with everything.
“Of course, I had other offers. Marco Silva was important when it came to making the final decision. His way of managing and the confidence he showed in me were key.”
