Barcelona back-up goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen wants the Copa del Rey format to remain the same and ‘will not complain’ over lack of playing time.
The Dutchman has featured in just two league matches for the Blaugrana since joining from Ajax in the summer of 2016 but Wednesday is set to be his 18th Copa match for the club.
“I’m fond of the Copa del Rey, I like the format and I hope it remains the same,” Cillessen told Diario Sport.
“Lack of game-time? It’s not an ideal scenario and like any player I want to play as much as possible, I want to complete and be involved.
“There is not point wasting energy on anger or not being happy about the situation, it will not do me any good.
“I must focus on my role and play at my maximum level when I am given the opportunity either for Barca or the Netherlands.”
