Vinicius Junior suspension for El Clasico overturned

Real Madrid have been successful in their appeal to overturn Vinicius Junior’s suspension and he will now be available for Sunday’s El Clasico game.

The Brazilian scored a magnificent late free-kick for Castilla against Celta Vigo B – a goal which secured a draw – before being sent-off minutes later for a dive.

Due to the structure of league competition in Spain, the ban was due to cover both matches in the third tier and La Liga, meaning the teenager would have been banned from next Sunday’s clash at El Clasico.

However, Madrid have been successful in their appeal of the red card and the former Flamengo forward will now be available for the clash with Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

Vinicius was not part of the 18-man Madrid squad for the weekend defeat at home to Levante.
