Antonio Conte settles with Chelsea and is ‘free for Real Madrid’ – report

Antonio Conte has agreed to terminate the remainder of his contract with Chelsea and is now free to be appointed by Real Madrid, say reports.

Earlier this week it was reported that should Los Blancos appoint Conte, they would need to pay the West London club €10.8m as he is still contractually tied to Chelsea.

The Italian was relieved of his duties at Stamford Bridge a year before his contract expired with the FA Cup winners continuing to pay his wage unless he was appointed elsewhere.

Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset now say Conte has come to an agreement with the Blues for a settlement in a London court on Friday.

The same reports states a ‘verbal agreement’ has been struck between the Coach and Madrid, where he could replace incumbent boss Julen Lopetegui imminently.
