‘Victory in Milan gives Real Betis prestige’ – Quique Setien

Real Betis Coach Quique Setien has hailed his side’s win in Milan which he believes will ‘give the team prestige’.

Goals from Antonio Sanabria and Giovani Lo Celso earned Los Verdiblancos a famous 2-1 victory against the Rossoneri in Thursday’s Europa League tie.

“This triumph gives us prestige,” Setien told his post-match press conference, as cited by Marca.

“This is my first experience in Europe and things are going really well. In a scenario like this and the performance that the team has put in, it is to remember where this has come from.

“Everybody involved in this victory will remember this forever, it gives us a great general mood and satisfaction with our work.

“The victory is not only important in terms of the points but in the prestige that it gives us beyond Spain, to show the potential of what we can do.

“We got the aspects of the game that we have not in others this season, playing with real danger in the final third, taking the lead and managing the game from there.

“Giovani Lo Celso is a fantastic football, who is growing increasing confidence in this team and his goal and assist was the icing on his performance.

“But today was about our team, and I am delighted for them.”
