Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is wary of the threat carried by Borrusia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer: “I am not surprised by his form.”
The Spain international has been in supreme form this season, netting 11 goals in just three starts for club and country since his loan switch from Barcelona.
“I am not surprised by his current form,” Simeone told reporters at his pre-match press conference, as cited by Marca.
“He has always had great skill and instinct inside the penalty area, his movement is excellent and when he has confidence it is hard to manage.
“This is a key point of the game for us because we are up against a striker who is in-form and confident due to his run of games.
“Diego Costa? He adds another dimension to our team, his strength is not just physical but psychological, he makes a difference in these games.
“He is a very important player for that and his enthusiasm is contagious.”
Alcacer described playing Atleti as ‘like suffering toothache’.
