Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has lamented his side’s failure to defeat Valencia despite ‘dominating’ the match.
Ernesto Valverde side’s winless run in La Liga extended to four games with Sunday’s 1-1 draw at the Mestalla despite Lionel Messi cancelling out Ezequiel Garay’s early opener.
“We were the better team but did not create enough clear-cut opportunities,” Busquets told reporters after the game.
“It does not matter if you dominate the game in terms of possession and position if you cannot score more goals.
“These matches are always difficult, Valencia are a team who can defend deep and are well organised, particularly if they have taken the lead.
“We thought they would come forward more after our equaliser but they did not.”
