Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal will miss his side’s trip to Sevilla on Wednesday with a muscular injury, say reports in Spain.
The full-back sustained the problem in last week’s Champions League victory over Roma and sat out the weekend win at home to Espanyol.
That handed a debut to summer signing Alvaro Odriozola although it is possible Nacho Fernandez will instead start in Seville due to his greater defensive dependability.
Carvajal’s injury is not serious but the club do not want to aggravate the issue, say Marca, while a decision on his replacement will be made on Wednesday.
Toni Kroos and Gareth Bale are both set to return to Julen Lopetegui’s line-up after being rested against Espanyol.
