Real Betis boss Quique Setien: Olympiakos pitch a problem

Real Betis Coach Quique Setien believes the state of the pitch Karaiskakis Stadium is a ‘problem’ for their Europa League clash with Olympiakos.

Los Verdiblancos are back in Europe following a four-year hiatus but the Coach is not happy with the condition of the pitch in Piraeus.

“The grass on their pitch is not in good condition, and for us it is important,” Setien is cited by Marca as telling his pre-match press conference.

“We have not trained on some areas of the pitch due to its state but we will try to formulate a plan to negate this problem.

“I'm going to make some changes, there are going to be new players that are going to join the team, we have absolute confidence that things will be fine for us, we will try to manage this issue so that everyone feels important.

“We have full confidence in the entire team and we are sure that whoever plays will do a good job for us, that is why they are here.

“Our aims for the competition? To enjoy victories and impressive performances against new opponents and advance as far as we can in the tournament.

“I wanted to send a recognition and gratitude to those players who put us in this competition last year and now they are not like Antonio Adan, Dani (Giménez), Rafa (Navarro), Riza (Durmisi) , Jordi (Amat), Joel Campbell, Nahuel, Jesus Narváez, Fabián  Ruiz and Víctor (Camarasa) We express our gratitude because we are here and they gave us a lot.”
