Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has hit out at the decision to send off Cristiano Ronaldo at Valencia: “football is crazy”.
The Bosnian midfielder netted two penalties as the Bianconeri were far superior to the hosts at the Mestalla despite playing over an hour with a player less following Ronaldo’s dismissal.
“It wasn’t easy to step up to the spot, because the ball didn’t seem to want to go in before then,” Pjanic admitted, speaking to UEFA’s official website.
“Not to mention that in front of me I had Neto, against whom I took so many penalties in training.
“The red card? Football is crazy. At half-time we could have been at least three goals up.
“We did a similar thing two years ago in Lyon when we managed to win with 10 men. After that we got to the final. We want to repeat that.”
