Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo is not concerned by the club’s ‘inconsistent’ start to the campaign: “there is positivity here.”
Atleti have won just one of their opening four league games but have collected the UEFA Super Cup and won their Champions League opener at Monaco on Tuesday.
“There is positivity around the club and within the team, nobody is panicked,” Cerezo told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“The start of the season has not produced consistent results but we have won a major title and importantly, made a strong start in the Champions League.
“Our aim is always to improve upon the results of the previous season, to build upon those achievements and keep growing as a club.
“It is an important season for us and we have the opportunity to play in the Champions League final at our Wanda Metropolitano home.
“We all want to win every game and every trophy but reality is different to your desires and we know how long and difficult a season is, but we all must stick together.”
