Struggling La Liga 123 club Tenerife have dismissed Coach Joseba Etxeberria, the former star of Athletic Club Bilbao and Spain.
The news has not yet been made official but Cadena Ser say the Islanders squad was called into an emergency meeting on Monday morning when they were informed of the decision.
Tenerife have not won any of their five league matches to date this season, although three of those matches have ended in draws.
Etxeberria made a total of 514 appearances for Athletic Club as a player, a club where he became an icon, whilst also winning 53 caps for the Spanish national team.
He has also enjoyed previous managerial stints at lower league clubs Basconia and Amorebieta while he was appointed at Tenerife in February.
