Real Madrid defender Marcelo re-watches every performance to ‘keep improving’ while he dreams of playing at the club until he’s 40.
The 30-year-old has been a staple in Madrid’s first team for over a decade, racking up a total of 456 appearances for Los Blancos.
“I re-watch all my games and look for any mistakes to stamp them out,” Marcelo is cited as saying by Marca.
“You always need to improve, the same is true for any footballer and everyone must look at that as their challenge and motivation.
“My ambition is to defend better, to win more tackles, to defend more, to cover greater space, to improve my delivery, to score more goals…everything.
“Madrid are the perfect team to allow me to do this, both the club and the squad I have around me, it is an honour to be successful in front of these fans.
“I want to continue at this club for many years, and my aim would be to get to 40, although I know that will be very difficult!”
