Preview: Levante-Valencia

The first eastern Derbi of the season sees Valencia in need of three points against Levante on Sunday.

Levante boss Paco Lopez on facing his side’s arch-rivals: “It’s not easy to describe what it means to play in a derby. There’s even more enthusiasm.

“I know what the fans feel, I know what the Valencians feel. I know a derby is always special because of the enthusiasm that’ll be seen in the stands.

“However, the fans must live it with respect, as well as passion.”

Valencia boss Marcelino on the return of Goncalo Guedes: “It seems the norm for a Coach to have a conversation with a player at any given moment, but I don’t think that’s the determining reason for him to come back.

“Valencia are attractive enough as a club to convince a player to join. The Champions League is another clear incentive, as well as the city.

“As a club and what they have around the, Valencia have motivations for belonging to them. I speak with sincerity, without making false promises.

“In these two summers, we have signed several good players.”
