Thorgan Hazard ‘offered to Valencia’

Thorgan Hazard was offered to Valencia ahead of the World Cup but now believes he will stay at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Belgian international, brother of Chelsea playmaker Eden, netted 11 goals and provided nine assists in the Bundesliga this season, but the club missed out on a European spot.

A report in Footmercato earlier this month stated both Sevilla and Roma are interested in his signature, but the German club would not sell at a low price while Marca now say his agents offered him to Los Che in June.

“Until the last second you never know what's going to happen, but my head says I'm staying at Gladbach, I'm looking forward to a good season,” Hazard said, as reported by Bild.

Hazard told Belgian media outlet RTBF in May, as cited by Estadio Deportivo: “Sevilla are a great club. They are a good team who play at the top of one of Europe’s strongest leagues and compete highly in Europe almost every year, but Monchengladbach are strong too.

“Right now, I do not want to discuss my future as I still have things to do this season, then we can start to think about the next one.

“At the moment, I have a two-year deal with my club and whilst it is a shame we could not qualify for Europe, I feel good at this club and in this league.”
