Dortmund lead chase for Paco Alcacer

Borussia Dortmund are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer on a loan deal, say reports in the Spanish press.

Catalan outlet RAC1 the striker’s move to the German club is being negotiated, despite El Mundo Deportivo saying the player would favour remaining in Spain with Real Betis strongly linked.

Alcacer was left out of Barca’s matchday squad for the clash with Alaves on Saturday and has also been linked with a move to FC Porto.

The 24-year-old joined the Catalan giants on a five-year contract from Valencia in 2016 in a €30m deal but has struggled for game time since, scoring 15 times in 50 appearances.

The striker, who has netted six goals in 13 caps for his nation, has also been linked with Valencia and Watford this summer, and looks certain to exit the Camp Nou before the transfer window closes for Spanish clubs on 31 August.
