Filipe Luis ‘insists on PSG move’

Filipe Luis has informed Atletico Madrid he wishes to leave the club to join Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report in Diario AS.

The full-back has a €30m release clause in his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano and it is thought this will be activated by the French champions.

A report in Cadena Ser over the weekend had highlighted how the defender’s contract talks with Atleti had stalled while the player was reportedly keen on interest from PSG.

The Brazilian has fallen behind Lucas Hernandez in the pecking order at the Wanda Metropolitano while the French champions were seeking a replacement for Yuri Berchiche.

AS say the 33-year-old’s relationship with Diego Simeone has strained in recent months and PSG’s only indication of a bid is €5m – far short of the player’s asking price.

Luis is out of contract in Madrid next summer but they do not want him to leave under any circumstances and would be pushed for time in finding a replacement.
