Preview: Celta-Espanyol

With new Coaches at their respective helms, Celta Vigo and Espanyol both begin their new eras at Balaidos on Saturday.

Celta boss Antonio Mohamed on Emre Mor and his side’s defensive shortcomings: “He’s in the squad and he could play.

“We’re deeply involved in the task of making him understand that this work is collective, but I can’t get into his head.

“Improving defensively, which is everyone’s job, doesn’t mean we lose any firepower in attack.

“My intention is to maintain the number of goals we score and, at least, that our goalkeepers concede 15 goals less.”

Espanyol boss Rubi on his team taking their preseason form into La Liga: “I think our work will end up bearing fruit. I hope it starts on Saturday.

“I think we should try to keep this optimism going. You get much more out of being happy, the conviction of knowing we’re doing something good and that our fans can identify with it.”
