Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke has hailed his side’s teamwork and believes their European Super Cup title can start a ‘very beautiful’ season.
The Spanish midfielder netted the fourth goal for Diego Simeone’s side in Wednesday’s triumph over city rivals Real Madrid and he cited the squad as the reasoning for the victory.
“We won because of our team work and playing as a group, and that is always something that brings us success,” Koke told Movistar, in quotes carried by Marca.
“These are the values of Atletico and it is drilled into all the players, we play as a unit and every individual has their part in our success.
“This was a fantastic result for us in an incredible match and shows the potential of this group and what we can achieve together.
“We hope this is the start of a very beautiful and successful season for us.”
