Valencia have finally agreed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro.
Marca expects Gameiro to arrive ‘in the next few hours’, ahead of his presentation as a Valencia player on Monday and first training session.
The newspaper explains negotiations were close to collapsing ‘on several occasions’, with Borussia Dortmund threatening to hijack his move.
However, the Frenchman’s ‘determination’ to join Los Che would have facilitated the transfer.
Valencia will reportedly pay €16m plus bonuses for the 31-year-old, who scored just seven goals and made only 11 starts in La Liga last season.
Simone Zaza is likely to make way for the former Sevilla attacker, while Goncalo Guedes may yet return from Paris Saint-Germain.
