Madrid negotiate for Icardi

Real Madrid are ready to enter into negotiations for Inter striker Mauro Icardi, according to Libertad Digital.

The report states that Madrid have still not finished their business in the transfer market, and want to bring the Argentina international to the Santiago Bernabeu to partner Karim Benzema in attack.

In fact, the publication has it that representatives of the European champions are in the Italian capital Rome to discuss the transfer of the 25-year-old, who has plundered 100 goals in 159 league appearances for the Milan club since joining from Sampdoria at the beginning of the 2014-15 campaign.

Icardi is understood to have been on Los Blancos’ radar for some time, yet although his buy-out clause is €100m he is believed to be an express wish of new Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui to complete his forward line.
