Barca’s Yerry Mina to Everton ‘today’

Barcelona defender Yerry Mina will join Everton ‘in a matter of hours’ according to multiple reports in the Spanish press.

The central defender has been linked to Manchester United, Everton and Lyon while Barca’s signing of Clement Lenglet this summer appears to have forced his hand for a permanent move.

Cadena Cope reported on Tuesday night that the defender would complete his move to Goodison Park this week while on Wednesday, Catalan-based Diario Sport replicated those reports.

Marca reported on Tuesday that Mina was not involved in first-team training and due to the club not communicating an injury, it appears to be a transfer-related issue.

The Blaugrana paid Palmeiras €11.6m for Mina in January, but he has played just five times for the Spanish champions.

The 23-year-old netted three goals in the World Cup as he impressed with Colombia and he has been linked to a host of clubs this summer.

It is believed a deal could be struck for Mina in the region of €40m.
