Willian ‘very happy at Chelsea’

Brazil international Willian looks set to stay at Chelsea beyond the current transfer by insisting he is ‘very happy’ at the club.

The 29-year-old had been linked with a variety of European clubs this summer including both Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer, alongside Manchester United.

“I am very happy at Chelsea and I am very happy living in London,” Willian is cited as saying by Globo Esporte.

It was reported the defensive work-rate and application of the Brazil international is a key reasoning behind Barca’s interest, before the Spanish giants opted to sign winger Malcom from Bordeaux.

The FA Cup winners are said to have knocked back three bids from the Camp Nou for Willian, including a €65m offer.

Last season Willian scored 13 goals, assisted 12 and starred against the Blaugrana in the Champions League.

The Brazilian has scored 44 goals in 236 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club from Russian side Anzhi in 2013.
