Burkina Faso international defender Bakary Kone is now a free agent after cutting short his contract with recently relegated Malaga.
The 30-year-old joined the Andalusian club from Lyon in the summer of 2016 in an €800k deal but made just seven league appearances at La Rosaleda.
He spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 club Strasbourg, where he made 33 appearances, and now looks set to return to French football permanently.
Marca say Kone did not speak Spanish and struggled to integrate, with the departure of goalkeeper Carlos Kameni last summer crucial for his move away.
