Brahim a priority for Girona

Girona have made the loan signing of Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz a priority if Pep Guardiola gives the green light.

The highly-rated 18-year-old winger is currently on tour with City in the United States, where he is hoping to impress, and is waiting to see whether boss Guardiola decides he needs more experience, and the next best thing to do would be to send him out on loan for a season.

According to AS, the Catalans have already spoken to City about a possible arrangement, although it is understood the player is reluctant to leave Manchester.

Malaga-born Brahim made five appearances for the Blues last term and also got the opportunity to make his debut in the Champions League, and this year he is expected to make further progression.

Girona director of football Quique Carcel is hoping to bring in at least three players from City during the summer transfer window – they already have Aleix Garcia – due to the close ties between the clubs’ respective ownerships.

However, the main target is Brahim and Girona are willing to wait until the market ends to give their squad more quality.
