Alaves move for Madrid striker?

Alaves have made a move to sign Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral, according to Cadena SER.

The player’s agent has reportedly met with an intermediary from Alaves to discuss the youngster’s future and the possibility of a move to Mendizorrotza, although AS maintains it has been in touch with the Vitoria club and it totally rejects the claims anyone has been in contact with Mayoral’s people.

However, the information provided by SER suggests the 21-year-old is open to the move but is prepared to wait until after he returns from Madrid’s pre-season tour of the United States, where he is hoping to impress new boss Julen Lopetegui.

The Basque club’s sporting director Sergio Fernandez is keen on Borja after Munir El-Haddadi’s loan expired and he returned to Barcelona.

Borja has made just 20 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos, scoring three goals, but is reluctant to spend another season on the bench when he could be playing regular football elsewhere.
