Bayern rule out James Rodriguez move

James Rodriguez will not be returning to Real Madrid this summer despite report, confirmed Bayern Munich general manager Karl Heinz Rummenigge.

A report in Marca last week stated the Colombian star was keen to return to the European champions due to the exit of Zinedine Zidane, with whom he had a fractured relationship.

The former Porto and Monaco star joined the German champions last summer in a two-year loan agreement worth €10m, with Bayern also possessing a €35m option to buy at the end of that spell.

“Lots of rumours come from Spain which are not true,” is cited as saying by ESPN FC.

“The contract situation of the player is well known to everyone.

“James will definitely play for us this season, and I expect him to play for Bayern beyond that.”

The 27-year-old completed a successful first season in Bavaria, netting eight times in 40 appearances including a goal against Los Blancos in the Champions League semi-final.
