Boca Juniors have offered Argentina international Cristian Pavon a new contract after Lionel Messi reportedly requested Barcelona make a move.
The 22-year-old featured for his nation at this summer’s World Cup and Boca have reportedly offered him a new deal which includes a €42.5m release clause, cites Diario AS.
The report includes Messi’s quotes after a recent international friendly win over Haiti: "I have found a new partner in Pavon, he is really talented.
“He's very fast and offers something different to what we have in the squad.”
The Xeneizes chairman Daniel Angelici does not want to lose Pavon, who has netted 17 goals across the last two campaigns and provided an Argentine-high numbers of assists as Boca were crowned champions.
