Villarreal have completed the €4m signing of FC Porto defender and Mexico international Miguel Layun, it has been confirmed.
The 30-year-old joins the Yellow Submarine on a four-year deal and will be a replacement for the outgoing Antonio Rukavina, who has joined Kazakhstani club FC Astana.
Layun spent the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla and made 16 La Liga appearances for Los Rojiblancos, who did not take up their €4m purchase option.
An attack-minded full-back, the former Watford man becomes the latest arrival at the Yellow Submarine following deals for Gerard Moreno, Karl Toko Ekambi, Ramiro Funes Mori and Santi Cazorla.
