Real Madrid are closing in on the signing of Real Sociedad defender Alvaro Odriozola in a €40m deal, say reports in Spain.
A variety of media reports including Diario AS and Cadena Cope say all the key details have been finalised with just small issues left to iron out.
The 22-year-old has made just 50 La Liga appearances for La Real – his boyhood club – having only broken through into the first-team during the 2016/17 season.
A highly-rated right-back, Odriozola starred for La Roja’s Under-21 team before earning his senior debut earlier this year and was part of the 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
The San Sebastian native will provide direct competition for Dani Carvajal for both club and country, while Nacho Fernandez is also another option in the right-back position.
