Barca negotiate for Chelsea’s Willian

Barcelona have had a bid of €56m (£50m) rejected by Chelsea for Brazil international winger Willian but remain in talks, according to reports.

Sky Sports report the Catalan giants are still optimistic on a deal for the forward, currently with his nation at the World Cp, despite seeing an initial bid rejected.

The 29-year-old would theoretically link up with his Brazil teammates Philippe Coutinho and Paulinho at the Camp Nou.

Earlier this week, El Mundo Deportivo described the Chelsea man as ‘a good opportunity in the market for Barca after the Antoine Griezmann fiasco’.

The publication explains the former Shakhtar Donetsk star fits the bill of ‘a versatile forward, who can play out wide and behind the strikers, with goals and the ability to beat his man’.

Antonio Conte has tended to use Willian as an impact player, although he nonetheless scored 13 goals, assisted 12 and starred against the Blaugrana in the Champions League last season.
