Atletico join race for Kalinic

Atletico Madrid have joined the race for Milan striker Nikola Kalinic to rival Sevilla's interest, according to fresh reports.

The 30-year-old joined the Rossoneri from Fiorentina last summer in a deal worth a reported €29m but managed just six goals in 31 Serie A appearances and the report says his representatives are aiming to structure a move to Spain.

Calciomercato.com now report that negotiations are underway with Los Rojiblancos for a transfer a day after ABC de Sevilla citing a report in Corriere dello Sport which states Sevilla have lodged a €14m offer for the Croatian, which fell below his €25m valuation.

Kalinic, who scored 32 goals in 68 appearances for the Viola, would add competition to Wissam Ben Yedder and Luis Muriel at the Andalusian club while for Atleti, any move may depend on Kevin Gameiro’s sale to Valencia.

The striker was sent home early from Croatia's World Cup campaign for allegedly not being prepared to come from the substitutes bench during a group stage match.
