Athletic Club Bilbao have completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain defender Yuri Berchiche today, it has been confirmed.
The full-back switched Real Sociedad for the French capital last summer in a €15m move but now PSG are keen to balance their books for UEFA Financial Fair Play demands.
The two clubs confirmed the deal via their official media streams on Monday morning with a four-year contract signed with a €100m release clause, but no fee or further details have been mentioned.
Last week, ESPN FC journalist Eduardo Fdez-Abascal reports the transfer stands at €20m, including variables, and the defender will pen a four-year deal at San Mames.
Earlier, Marca reported the Basque club were close to a deal, pipping interest from Atletico Madrid.
Yuri has netted two goals and provided five assists in 32 appearances for the Parisians since his move from La Real to the Ligue 1 champions last summer.
The defender has become the second former La Real defender to join their Basque rivals following Inigo Martinez’s €32m switch in January.
