Official: Sevilla sign Amadou

Sevilla have officially signed defensive midfielder Ibrahim Amadou from French side Lille for a reported €15m.

A statement on Sevilla’s official website confirms Amadou will sign a four-year contract once he has passed a medical early next week.

The 25-year-old made 102 appearances in three seasons for Lille and reunites with right-back Sebastien Corchia.

He has yet to pledge his international allegiance to France or Cameroon, although he played twice for Les Bleus’ Under-19 team.

Amadou becomes the Andalusians’ second summer signing after Roque Mesa, and Muchodeporte believes they could be followed by Clement Lenglet’s replacement, Red Bull Salzburg defender Duje Caleta-Car.

Mundo Deportivo reported on Saturday that Lenglet would tell Sevilla of his desire to join Barca early next week, paving the way for Pablo Machin’s side to pursue a deal for Caleta-Car.

The 21-year-old has already played 130 games for Salzburg and was called up to Croatia’s World Cup squad, while he would cost €10-15m.
