New Juventus defender Joao Cancelo has described his move to the Italian champions as ‘a dream’ after completing a €40.4m move from Valencia.
The Portuguese defender completed his move to the Bianconeri on Wednesday, having spent last season on loan at Inter but they did not activate their €35m option to buy last month.
“It is a dream to be at this great club,” Cancelo told the official club website in a video interview.
“Representing one of the biggest European clubs makes me very happy.
“Juventus have so many strong players, so I don’t want to make it an individual issue. You have to be a strong player to be in a team like this.
“I hope they can help me to achieve success both on an individual and collective level.
“My preferred position is at right-back. Allegri told me he thought I would soon meet up with the rest of the squad, he wants me to give the club a hand to continue the success they had in recent years.
“He told me: ‘You are someone who can help us continue having success.’
